Terms of use

The rules for using XLRI GeoLens on iPhone, Android and the web.

Last updated 11 October 2026Provided by XLRI

01About the app

XLRI GeoLens is a documentation tool provided by XLRI – Xavier School of Management (“XLRI”) for capturing photographs with location information, available as an iPhone app, an Android app and a web app. By using it you agree to these terms.

02Acceptable use

  • Use the app lawfully and in line with XLRI policies.
  • Respect people’s privacy. Obtain consent where required before photographing people, and do not photograph restricted or confidential areas.
  • Do not alter or misrepresent the location stamp on photos.

03Location and address accuracy

Coordinates, accuracy, addresses and maps come from your device and mapping services. They can be imprecise, especially indoors or with a weak GPS signal. The reported accuracy is shown on every photo; verify critical information independently.

04Your content

Ownership and permitted use of photos are governed by XLRI policy. You are responsible for the content you capture, share and store. Photos are kept on your device; keep copies of important photos, because uninstalling the app or clearing the browser’s site data deletes them.

05Map and address data

Map imagery and addresses are provided by Apple, Google or OpenStreetMap and remain subject to their terms and attributions.

06Availability and liability

The app is provided “as is”. XLRI works to keep it reliable but does not guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and is not liable for loss of data or for decisions made based on location information, to the extent permitted by law.

07Changes to these terms

XLRI may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated terms.
